Hello, my name is Samantha Decker, and I am a French teacher who just happens to be a photographer as well. I enjoy nearly all types of photography, but at Through the Glass, I license fine art photos and offer commissioned portrait sessions, events, and promotional photography. Photography was a hobby of mine for a number of years before I turned it into a business.
My work has been licensed by such companies as
Getty Images, Flickr, and the Walt Disney Company. My photos of my hometown of Saratoga Springs have been featured in
Simply Saratoga Magazine and
Saratoga Living Magazine, my photos of my alma mater have been featured in
Oswego Alumni Magazine, and my photos of my home-away-from-home, Walt Disney World, have been featured in
The Unofficial Guide: The Color Companion to Walt Disney World. My photos can be seen on the walls of museums, banks, fitness centers, hospitals, and doctors offices, just to name a few.
I am based in Saratoga Springs, in New York's Capital Region, but much of my work is available to be licensed worldwide. If you see an image you would like to use in your project, or if you'd like to hire me, please get in touch with me through my
contact page.
Beyond photography and teaching French, I have a passion for travel (I am currently in the process of exploring America's National Parks, and I love traveling to Europe as well), Disney Parks (I am an annual Walt Disney World goer), Old Hollywood movies (I visited and photographed many of the Old Hollywood historic spots in California a few years ago), and my cat Fran. All of these passions are connected to my photography to some extent.
